The Ten Commandments (Exodus 20: 1-17)
Chapter 20
1. And the Mighty Ones spoke all of these words, saying:
You shall love Yâ-hwéh above all things (1-4)
2. (1) “I am Yâ-hwéh (hwhy He causes to be/exist יָהְוֶה ), your Mighty Ones, Who have brought you out of the Land of Mitsráyim, out of the house of bondservices:
3. There shall not be for yourself other mighty ones besides My Face.
4. (2) You shall not be making for yourself a carved image of worship, including an image of anything that is from above in the heavens or that is from beneath on the earth, or that is from beneath the earth within the waters.
6. Yet Who shall demonstrate favor to thousands: to ones affectionately loving Me, even to ones observing My commandments:
7. (3) You shall not be lifting the name of Yâ-hwéh, your Mighty Ones, to falseness, because Yâ-hwéh shall not be clearing from guilt one who is lifting His name to falseness:
8. (4) To remember to keep separate the day of the Shabbâ´th,
9. You shall serve six of the days, and you shall do all of your work,
10. But the seventh Day is Shabbâ´th for Yâ-hwéh, your Mighty Ones – you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your bondman or your bondmaid or your animal or your guest that is within your gates,
11. Because six of the days, Yâ-hwéh has made the heavens and the earth, the sea and everything that is within them, and He shall repose on the seventh Day. Due to this, Yâ-hwéh has blessed the Day of the Shabbâ´th and He is separating it:
You shall love your neighbor as yourself (5-10)
12. (5) Honor your father and your mother, in order that your days may be long upon the land that Yâ-hwéh, your Mighty Ones is giving to you: [1 Timótheos 5: 3-4]
13. (6) You shall not be murdering:
14. (7) You shall not be committing adultery:
15. (8) You shall not be stealing:
16. (9) You shall not be heeding a testimony of a lie by your neighbor [to bear a false testimony][E1]:
17. (10) You shall not be desiring the house of your neighbor, you shall not be desiring a wife of your neighbor, or his bondman or his bondmaid, or his ox or his donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor:”
[E1]Another possible translation of this is “You shall not be responding a testimony of a lie about your neighbor” which is as the establishment has understood it. But this translation is more consistent with His Spirit. There is already a commandment not to lie. Doing so is a logical conclusion to this commandment, which is much father reaching than the establishment version. Our court system routinely solicits false testimony, which isn’t investigated for perjury if it favors the government, and heeds it when given. Our religious system bears many false testimonies because they have for centuries heeded the false testimony of their fathers (tradition). Much of the violations of this commandment are done in ignorance, due to ignorance of the truth.
